Dr. Sarah Hartman

Clinical Interests
Dr. Hartman works with college students, graduate students, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, identity stress, ADHD, life transitions, relationship concerns, and work-related stress and burnout. As a bilingual therapist providing services in English and Spanish, she is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible therapeutic space for clients from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Hartman approaches therapy through an integrative, evidence-based lens, drawing primarily from ACT and CBT, strongly rooted in a multicultural-feminist perspective. She believes that effective therapy is grounded in a collaborative, supportive therapeutic relationship that honors each client's unique lived experiences, cultural context, and strengths. With a deep commitment to cultural humility and anti-oppressive practice, Dr. Hartman strives to create a warm, affirming environment where clients feel empowered to navigate challenges, deepen self-understanding, and build meaningful, values-driven lives.
Education & Training
Dr. Hartman completed her undergraduate degree at Tufts University with a B.A. in Anthropology and Community Health. She earned her M.Sc. in Global Mental Health through King's College London and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and went on to earn her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Clark University. Dr. Hartman completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Worcester VA and has trained across a variety of community mental health, integrated care, and university counseling settings. Her professional experience includes more than 10 years of collaboration on global mental health research and programming with Compañeros En Salud / Partners In Health Mexico, including three years living and working in Chiapas, where she partnered with community health workers, global health professionals, and local communities to expand access to mental health care.
