Anya Anderson
Associate Therapist
Clinical Interests
Anya is particularly passionate about supporting college students, young adults, and athletes as they navigate anxiety, depression, identity development, ADHD, life transitions, and academic pressure or career-related stress. Her work is grounded in a relational, trauma-informed approach, and she takes an integrative stance that draws from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She strives to create a warm, collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to deepen self-awareness, build coping skills, and move toward meaningful, values-driven lives. She believes in meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they move toward growth, clarity, and a greater sense of alignment.
Education & Training
Anya completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Boston University and earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine. Her training experience consists of working across outpatient therapy, partial hospitalization, and psychiatric rehabilitation settings, with a focus on young adults and adults with co-occurring diagnoses. Her work includes providing individual therapy and facilitating skills-based groups across diverse populations, helping clients build insight, resilience, and more effective ways of navigating emotions, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Anya values helping clients reconnect with their strengths to develop a greater sense of confidence and agency in their lives. Anya is currently being supervised by Elizabeth Lopez as she pursues her LMHC license.
